Back in May 2005, the beginnings of micro peeked out into Shanghai. And now, on Saturday, 2ND OF JUNE, Shanghai’s premier minimal art platform will celebrate the culmination of two grand years running. A time where the journey – microclub and microfabrique, microlab and the microfloor at `tourist’ – lands at micropirates. And it is here; where over two spaces: Sam Reynold (Duplex100), DJ Duo Potenciel of Paris, the micro DJ collective, Guido Prestigiovanni (video installation) & the VJ Battle of No Signal vs. HyperVideoJammer set off the birthday celebrations.

Big Boss of the renowned ‘Trenton Records’ label & happy half of celebrated Live Act ‘Duplex100’, Sam Reynold has been collaborating with the likes of Kinobee & Scanone, adventuring internationally in bands OH & A.U.F.M, and releasing big on labels such as Dumb-Unit, Morris/Audio & Out of Orbit. Founder of the long-running Parisian ‘Minimal Dancin’ movement, Sam pushed the life of minimal dance by bringing the leaders of the scene to the feet and ears of Paris.
