Join the internationally renowned d.j. Michael Mayer
and The New Yorker’s Sasha Frere-Jones for a night
of minimal techno and house music.
Michael Mayer grew up in the Black Forest area
of Germany. A veteran d.j., producer, and remixer,
he is the co-owner of the Cologne-based record
label, store, and distribution network Kompakt,
which handles many of Europe’s underground
imprints and has spearheaded a revival in techno
music. He has d.j.-mixed a number of compilations
as well as a solo album of original songs, "Touch."
Sasha Frere-Jones is the pop-music critic for
The New Yorker. His work has been selected
three times for the "Da Capo Best Music Writing"
series. He has performed with the bands Dolores
and Ui, with whom he recorded five albums and
toured America and Europe.
