Michael Martino is an individual whose hands guide him in his craft as much as his instincts. The pleasure of the work inspires him as much as the idea of the object to be created. He says, “If you like a panel then we have connected and that unity is a reward of service for each other.” Martino’s panels are “visual constructs of shape, texture and form that build the compositions with subtle details, defining the central theme and personal life experience that gives force to the visual statements.” The universality of his images is reflected in his passion for the myths and the metaphysics of world cultures. Unconcerned with the title of “artist” or with the trends and fads of the “art world,” Michael Martino crafts his own unique vision into his chosen materials with his chosen tools—which is the definition of a creative soul seeking connection.
