Singer-songwriter-pianist-performer extraordinaire, Canada’s Michael Kaeshammer storms back into New York for a return engagement at Rockwood Music Hall (Stage 1). Kaeshammer, whose surname (pronounced “CASE-hammer”) provides the title of his most recent release, is one of the brightest new stars on the jazz-pop horizon and has been garnering the highest praise from critics. One reviewer of his most recent performance at Tanglewood Jazz Festival noted that Kaeshammer “[draws] on a rock-solid knowledge of the early piano greats” and “does more than play the way they did. He entertains with a capital ‘E’ the way they did… he taps into a part of music that's almost lost, connecting deeply with the audience on a gut level, so they are no longer just spectators in the music-making.” The first 20 people through Rockwood’s Stage 1 doors on September 3 will receive a free copy of Kaeshammer.
