on tuesday, september 27th, michael buckley will be in the shop from 3:30-5:30!

we can’t wait. wanna know why?

well, we simply love how he’s kept fairytales fresh and appropriately frightening for the 8+ crowd with his sisters grimm series. we also agree with the horn book magazine that these are “great girl books for boys” — they are fast-paced and fantastical enough to appeal to both genders. see what we mean by watching this trailer…

and, for those kids slightly older (ages 10+), we think he’s come up with the perfect series premise. after all, why shouldn’t braces and allergies become superpowers used to battle for a safer and more just world? see why we say “hooray for the nerds!”
