The Heat have won six straight and eight of nine, but will have to play the Pistons tonight without the services of Dwyane Wade after he received a one-game suspension for kicking Ramon Sessions in the groin in the 105-92 Boxing Day victory. Wade finished with a game-high 29 points and nine rebounds, while LeBron James had a near triple-double of 27 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists. Ray Allen missed the game with a shoulder injury but could see extended minutes tonight if he's ready to play, otherwise we could see more Mike Miller or even Rashard Lewis in action.
On the other hand, the Pistons snapped a six-game losing streak with consecutive wins over the Wizards, but the winning feeling was short-lived as they fell in double overtime to the Hawks on Boxing Day. The Pistons' starters were simply disappointing, amassing just 34 points, while the Bench totalled 85, led by Will Bynum who scored a game-high 31 points as the Pistons lost by 126-119. The Pistons are now 9-22 on the season and 6-8 at home so far.
Head to head, the Pistons have lost seven straight at home to the Heat and are just 2-8-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings.
Obviously the absence of Wade is a significant loss for the Heat, but they have plenty of players able to fill in for tonight. Last season, the Heat had to play a bunch of games with Wade on the sidelines and they were winning games left and right. Expect a big game from LeBron James and Chris Bosh and expect a double digit victory for the Heat.
