Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia: Swimmy, Frederick and Inch by Inch December 11, 2010

Based in Windsor, Nova Scotia, Mermaid Theatre’s unique adaptations of children’s literature have delighted more than 4 million young people on four continents. Founded in 1972, the company ranks among North America’s most respected theaters for the young and has won widespread recognition for its important ambassadorial role. The company, a long-time favorite of tri-state audiences, returns to New York in December for two performances of Swimmy, Frederick and Inch by Inch. This particular Mermaid production is drawn from Leo Lionni’s exquisite Caldecott Honor Books of the same names. The three whimsical stories are told sequentially through a gentle storytelling style, innovative puppetry, and charming original music.
