Mendocino Stories & Music Series is pleased to announce the return of Tracy Burns and her signature brand of improvised comedy on Friday and Saturday, August 19 & 20. She will be joined onstage by one of the most revered improvisers working today, Stephen Kearin. Venerable improv musician and composer, Allen Simpson, will provide live musical accompaniment. Together they will perform a completely spontaneous evening of entertainment, playing a cavalcade of characters, creating scenes and vignettes and maybe even singing a song or two. The shows start at 8PM at the Hill House of Mendocino.
Tracy Burns currently lives and works in Los Angeles. She is a member of the award-winning improvisational theater group Impro Theatre, which specializes in improvising plays in the style of the world’s great playwrights. Tracy has written and performed several one-woman shows including Paperdolls, The Glass Slipper and Fried Eggs. She’s also a veteran member of Mendocino’s Hit & Run Theater and was half of the internationally acclaimed comedy-team Burns & Nunn with HRT mainstay Doug Nunn.
Stephen Kearin is a founding member of renowned San Francisco-based improv groups True Fiction Magazine and 3ForAll; he’s also a company member of Impro Theatre in Los Angeles. Stephen is featured in the DreamWorks Animation films Kung Fu Panda, Kung Fu Panda 2, Madagascar 2, Monsters Vs. Aliens and in the Robert Zemeckis film Mars Needs Moms.
Allen Simpson is the composer and co-lyricist of the award-winning musical Fellowship!, a musical parody of The Fellowship of the Ring. He's written songs for writer/director David Zucker (Airplane!, Police Squad!) and also plays live keyboards and guitar for just about every comedy group in L.A.
