Mendocino Stories and Music Series will feature The Sue Sisk Band with Rick Banker and Tommy Grattan on Friday, October 28. With blues, rock and gospel influences, Sue and her sidemen are sure to lay out some easy grooves for your listening pleasure. Showtime is at 7:30PM at the Mendocino Hotel.
Chicago born singer and guitarist, Sue Sisk arrived in San Francisco in the summer of ’71, singing rock ‘n’ roll, gospel and jazz. Her original tunes reflect these diverse influences, moving from ballads to jump up blues boogies. Sue found her home in our coastal community in the mid 80’s and works as an RN at the Mendocino Coast District Hospital.
Joining Sue on guitar, Rick Banker moved to the coast 4 years ago from the Bay Area where he played with The Gumbo Band for twenty-five years and “He sho’ do love the blues.” Tommy Grattan on pedal steel, dobro, mandolin and vocals) has been in Mendocino for over 40 years, playing with the famous and infamous. He was the leader of the legendary band Frankie Calpella and his Royal Ukiahns!
