Mendocino Stories & Music Series welcomes back the hot Latin sounds of salsa band PURA VIDA to the Hill House of Mendocino on Saturday, January 28 at 7:30PM. PURA VIDA (PURE LIFE!) is Mendocino County’s original Latin inspired dance band.
PURA VIDA plays traditional Cuban rumba, mambo, and chachacha, as well as cumbia from South America and samba from Brazil. The authentic sound will keep the crowd dancing, and the sweet melodies and infectious beats of the rich afro-carribean diaspora cook up a "salsa picante" that will add sizzle and spice to your summer holiday weekend.
Join Coast residents and PURA VIDA founders Jorge Gomez on lead vocals guitar and percussionist and singer Margi Gomez, along with master congero Amunka and Isa Davila on percussion. Latin music DJ David Lipkin provides the crucial Latin bass line, and Willits trumpeter Jim Dooley is there with the high notes.
This is an all-ages dance party with music from Cuba, Brazil, Spain, and beyond. Doors open at 6:30PM. Dinner menu and libations will be available. Live music starts at 7:30PM. For more info call Pattie at 937-1732 or go to www.mendocinostories.com/events.html
