On Saturday, October 27 at 8PM and again on Sunday, October 28 at 3PM, the Rogue Valley Chorale, conducted by Lynn Sjolund, will present Felix Mendelssohn's Oratorio, "Elijah" at the Ginger Roger's Craterian Theatre.

Mendelssohn's masterpiece will be presented in an unusual semi-staged production with a cast of over 100 singers. The role of Elijah will be played by guest artist baritone Chris Thompson, who has appeared in concert and opera in New York, San Diego, Kansas, and Louisiana. Other principals include Ellie Holt-Murray, Susan Olson-White, Anita Caster, Andrew Brock and Ralph Dady.

Elijah is the dramatic story of the prophet Elijah as he summons the people to righteousness, performs miracles, and struggles against idol worshipping. He confronts the wicked queen Jezebel and the piece ends as Elijah rises to heaven in a fiery chariot. To the best of our knowledge, this will be the first time the Elijah has been performed, in its entirety in this format, on the West Coast.

Pricing:

Season includes 4 concerts: $60
Single concert: "Elijah" $20
Student: $5
