Memphis Symphony Orchestra Masterworks Series: "Murray and Mendelssohn" January 14, 2006

Saturday, January 14, 2006 at 8pm. Tai Murray, on of today's rising stars of the violin, performs Mendelssohn's brilliant Violin Concerto. The majority of the concert represents a melting pot of cultures in music, paying homage to the composer's heritage-from Still's sense of American brotherhood, Chavex's nod to Indian influence in Mexico's music, and Tchaikovsky's use of his native Russian folk melodies.
