Memphis Symphony Orchestra : Brahm's First Symphony October 17, 2009

The Memphis Symphony Orchestra is holding auditions during their Grand Series Concerts for candidates for the the music director position. Alastair Willis, a candidate, will guest conduct Brahms Symphony No. 1, the second concert of the First Tennessee Grand Series. Willis is the first of the three conductor candidates to audition for the music director position being vacated by Maestro David Loebel. He will lead the orchestra through a program of works by Jennifer Higdon, Gustav Mahler and Johannes Brahms.
