Memorial Day Ceremony Honoring 67 Alexandrians KIA/MIA in Vietnam War May 31, 2010

The members of the “Friends of Captain Rocky Versace” are pleased to host the 8th Annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the Captain Rocky Versace Plaza and Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial. The event will honor the 67 Alexandrians who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Vietnam War and will be on Monday, May 31, 2010 beginning at 11:00am. The Captain Rocky Versace Plaza and Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial is located in front of the Mount Vernon Recreation Center at 2701 Commonwealth Avenue in Alexandria, Virginia. Honorees include 4 USMA Graduates, 3 USAFA Graduates and the 6 men who are still MIA from that conflict. The Program will include reading the names of the 67 heroes, a Tribute to CPT Rocky Versace written by his fellow POW, COL James N. "Nick" Rowe (USMA 1960), a Wreath laying in honor of the fallen soldiers and the playing of “Taps.”
