The Golden Gate Men's Chorus presents the West Coast Premiere of Memento mori: an AIDS Requiem by James Adler.
This is the fourth performance of Memento mori, one of the first requiems dedicated to those who have succumbed to AIDS.
The performance is a 75-minute tour-de-force with nine movements and loosely based on the Roman Catholic requiem. It combines traditional English, Hebrew, and Latin texts with poetry by Quentin Crisp and William Weaver and prose by playwright Philip Justin Smith and Denise Stokes.
