When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. Or in the case of Melody Gardot, when life gives you lemons, you keep your chin up, smile graciously and you carry on your way. A strong and vivacious young woman of only 21, Melody is no stranger to hard times. Her recent debut EP, Some Lessons- the Bedroom Sessions is a culmination of songs recorded while bedridden and in recovery from an automobile accident that left Melody disabled at 19 years old. With deeply insightful songs like 'Wicked Ride' and 'Some Lessons', she draws from the emotional hardship and offers a touching and intimate look at the world. Striking and velvety-soft vocals, pleadingly tug at your heartstrings with every vocal phrase as they speak of pain, sadness, inspiring joy, lasting hope and a lifetime of reflection.
