Presenting a program featuring two women who played in America's first organized women’s baseball league. Meet and visit with real “LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN” players! (remember that 1992 movie?) These women played for the All American Girl’s Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL) and both were inducted into the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY! Please come and share in this very important event! Audrey Lafser, Second Base in 1944, is a member of Unity Church of Peace and the other is Erma “Bergie” Bergmann, Pitcher, in 1946-51. You will want to come and hear their stories of professional baseball players who were breaking the barriers for women back then...
This is a program put on by the Lightseekers, an informal group aimed at seniors, but open to all ages. They meet the fourth Tuesday of each month at 11:00 a.m. in Fellowship Hall of Unity Church of Peace. Everyone is invited. Please bring a sack lunch and visit after our guest presentation.
