The Tigard Public Library hosts an afternoon of local art during Art in Action!. On Saturday, Nov. 6, from 1 p.m.-5 p.m., local artists will display their work in printmaking, watercolors, penwork and mixed media. The artists will demonstrate their techniques and answer questions as they create new pieces.
Patty Barker, who calls her work "creative doodling," creates colorful images with graphic lines using colored pens. Linda Callentine's prints feature bright colors and upbeat images of fruit and other subjects. Gerry Foote's "Peace Leaves" incorporate poems, watercolor pencils and embellishments. Kathie Hacker showcases Oregon's flowers and wildlife in her watercolor paintings.
While these talented artists show their work and create new visions, a "Make Your Own Masterpiece" table will be available for kids to try their hand at making art. This free program is in the Library's Community Room and is open to all ages.
