The wall of electric sound and the heaviest of grooves that is the hallmark of Medeski, Martin, and Wood’s music is quite possibly the most riveting fusion of improvisation and rock technology on the planet.

Re-visiting an occasional and hugely productive partnership with uber-guitarist John Scofield, whose own explorations into funk, soul, and jamband have set many fires alight, their first UK performance together will most certainly raise the roof.

The Bays headlong dance beats and electronic impro have created a cult following matched by few. Their meeting with Herbie Hancock a couple of years ago was an undisputed highlight of a previous Barbican Jazz season.
