On Thursday, August 27th, starting at 6:30 p.m., the MBA Council of Houston and the Ivy+ Alumni Association will host a reception and debate featuring the four principal candidates for Mayor of Houston – Peter Brown, Annise Parker, Gene Locke, and Roy Morales.
The debate will be moderated by Columbia alumna Melanie C. Lawson, Emmy-winning reporter and co-anchor of the 5 pm news on KTRK-TV, Channel 13. She has a joint degree in law and journalism from Columbia, as well as a BA in Politics from Princeton. According to her Channel 13 biography, Melanie has covered virtually every city, state and national election during her career.
Preceding the debate will be an informal reception with light food and drinks, an opportunity to meet and engage the candidates one-on-one. The debate will then take place in the Garrett-Townes Auditorium on the ground floor of the South Texas College of Law, starting at 7:30 p.m.
