Business owners know that success means being positioned for the future — even when facing a difficult and challenging present. To share strategies for growth in today’s tough economy, The Boston Globe is hosting a breakfast entitled “Growing your business: Funding strategies in a recession,” with discussion led by Shirley Leung, business editor at The Boston Globe. This event will take place on Tuesday, May 19th from 8am to 9:30am at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.
Maria Cirino, Managing Director of .406 Ventures will be the keynote speaker for the May 19th event. At the breakfast, Maria will share her business strategies that she has gained from her 23 years of entrepreneurial, operating and senior management sales and marketing experience. Maria’s business efforts have earned her notable awards including “Massachusetts CEO of the Year 2004” and Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur of the Year 2003” for Business Services.
In addition to Ms. Cirino’s speech, the breakfast will feature a panel discussion centering on growth strategies for small businesses. Shirley Leung will moderate the panel which will include small business experts: Jim Maynard, Northeast Region Manager of Silicon Valley Bank; Gail Goodman, CEO of Constant Contact; Wendy Caswell, CEO of ZINK Imaging; and Aron Ain- CEO of Kronos, Inc.
The Boston Globe Business Breakfast is being held in conjunction with the New England Expo for Business 2009, a one-day trade show and conference for small businesses, which takes place on the same day at the Convention Center. Following the breakfast, attendees will have the opportunity to network with other local business owners and browse the exhibit hall of the New England Expo for Business.
Early Bird registration for the breakfast event is $40.00. After May 8, the registration is $47.00. Registrations must be received by Friday, May 15, 2009.
