On May 18, the Cannon River Watershed Partnership (CRWP) invites all watershed residents to an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. at 8997 Eaves Ave. in Northfield, off of Highway 19 heading toward the hospital. The open house will give members and watershed residents an opportunity to visit the new office space and talk with CRWP staff about watershed health.
How is your drinking water? Bring a jar of your tap water to the open house with you and the Rice County Environmental Services will test it for nitrates for free.
Those with septic systems may be interested in the septic pumping demonstration. At 5:30 p.m. CRWP will have its septic system pumped. Join Nick Haig, SE MN Wastewater Initiative, for a free demonstration and talk about the process and importance of maintaining a healthy septic system.
CRWP works to protect and improve the land and waters of the Cannon River watershed.
