Marlene Barasch Strauss, art historian.
Max Ernst (1891 - 1976) was raised and educated in Germany and later moved to Paris. Three women would play significant roles in his life and in the art world: Leonora Carrington; Peggy Guggenheim; and the artist Dorothea Tanning, Ernst's wife for 30 years until his death in 1976. This lecture explores the art and times of Ernst and the influences of the women in his life.
