Matt Haimovitz (solo recital) December 5, 2010

Israeli-born, Canada-based cellist Matt Haimovitz brings Ucello, his eight-person ensemble of cellists from Montreal’s McGill University (where Haimovitz teaches) back to New York for a December 3 performance at the Upper West Side Apple Store. Haimovitz will also perform a solo recital the following evening at the Rubin Museum. Ucello features the next generation of cellists from McGill’s Schulich School of Music. “Haimovitz’s ingenuity, inventiveness, and the sheer range of sounds he is able to produce from his instrument is jaw-dropping” (All Music Guide).
