The much awaited release of Baz Luhrmanns film is sure to stir controversy, especially in the context of F. Scott Fitzgeralds concern with the perennial tension between the past and the present, between idealism and pragmatism and between constancy and change. This course is a follow-up to Ray Younis' 'Masterpieces in Focus: The Great Gatsby', however it is not necessay for participants to have first attended that course.
