Maryland Day - the University of Maryland’s overwhelmingly popular open house – is celebrating 12 years of family fun, learning and discovery. Everyone is invited to “Explore our World” in College Park on Saturday April 24 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Last year, more than 70,000 visitors were welcomed to campus and expectations are high that we will meet or exceed that total this time. As with past Maryland Day open houses, there will be free tours, exhibits, demonstrations, and sporting events.
"Maryland Day is our way of sharing with the community everything that makes the university such a treasured resource for the state and region," says University President Dan Mote, Jr.
Don’t miss the opening ceremonies at 10 a.m. in Hornbake Plaza as we welcome back our Global Village with a procession of flags from nations around the world.
Everything is family friendly and all events are free. Don’t miss a scoop of Maryland ice cream at the Dairy! Admission, parking and shuttle bus transportation on campus and from the College Park Metro are all free. There will be plenty of food choices too! Campus navigation is easy with the help of complementary activity maps. Plan your day online at http://www.marylandday.umd.edu/, or email questions to: mmddayhelp@umd.edu
