Marvels and Ciphers Opening Celebration March 5, 2010

CHF opens the door to reactions—both chemical and personal—with its newest exhibit, Marvels and Ciphers: A Look Inside the Flask. With paintings, photographs, books, and cartoons, Marvels and Ciphers explores public responses to scientific debate and discovery. Marge Gapp, CHF’s curator of art and images, will present an in-depth look at Marvels and Ciphers at 6:30 p.m. Throughout the evening, visitors can make kaleidoscopes through a guided hands-on activity. Making Modernity, the museum’s permanent exhibit, will also be open.
