Martin Short is a comic actor, writer, and producer, who is well known for broad physical comedy and masterful impersonations. Born in Canada, Short launched to stardom as a cast member and scene-stealer on Second City TV and Saturday Night Live. His early feature films include The Three Amigos with fellow SNL comedians Chevy Chase and Steve Martin, Mumford, and Clifford. With quick wit and explosive energy, Short has created many memorable characters for movies, theater, and television, including wedding-planner Franck in Father of the Bride, Ed Grimley, and Jiminy Glick. Incompetent celebrity reporter Jiminy Glick, a character introduced on The Martin Short Show, simultaneously insults and fawns on celebrities in Comedy Central?s Primetime Glick and in the entirely improvised film Jiminy Glick in La La Wood. Many of Short?s unforgettable characters appear in Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, a world premiere, Broadway-bound musical, opening on April 25 at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco.
