Six University School students will regale you with the music of their exceptional Jazz Combo. Students from Laurel's performing arts department will present a performance art piece entitled "Why?" This engaging piece is set to the music/lyrics of "Why (The King of Love is Dead)" as written and performed by the legendary Nina Simone.
The keynote speaker will be Anthony D. Jordan, recipient of the Distinguished Community Leader Award from the NAACP and the Martin Luther King Citizen Award. His service to the Cleveland community is extensive. As Assistant City Prosecutor, Chief Tort Litigator and Chief Prosecutor, Mr. Jordan has promoted the values of justice and community service. He currently is in private practice and serves as a Special Prosecutor for the City of Cleveland.
