For thousands of American soldiers, marines, sailors and airmen, the trip from home to Vietnam was a three-week journey over the Pacific in a crowded troopship. Writing and drawing on the canvas bunks around them, these young Americans left graffiti records of homesickness, humor, patriotism, anxiety and love. The Vietnam Graffiti Project has organized this exhibition of preserved bunk canvases from a scrapped vessel in the James River Reserve Fleet.
