Hawaiian slack-key guitarist Mark Nelson concludes the Tigard Public Library's free outdoor summer concert series on Thursday, September 16, at 6 p.m. in the Library's courtyard. Hawaiian Slack-key guitar is a unique style of tuning achieved by loosening or slackening the guitar keys.
The bass sound is played on the lower register while the melody is played on the higher register at the same time. This unique blending of sounds results in an intricate, rich and soulful harmony.
The Library will provide seating for this concert. In case of rain, the concert will be held in the Library Community Room. The series is sponsored by the Friends of Tigard Library.
