Mariachi For Gringos! Meet the author

Hayward Public Library is proud to present a celebration of mariachi music featuring Gil Sperry, author of the book, Mariachi for Gringos; Unlocking the Secrets of Mexico's Macho Music. Sperry will give a talk about his love of Mariachi Music, its history and what makes it unique. He will also explain how to both enjoy mariachi music and to play it, including a comprehensive collection of music and lyrics for the top 50 Mariachi tunes. After the talk, light refreshments will be served, courtesy of La Salsa Restaurant; and local youth Mariachi group, Mariachi Juvenil de Hayward, will play favorite Mariachi songs.
