Founded and directed by trumpet player Cindy Shea in 1999, Mariachi Divas is a unique, multi-cultural ensemble representing the true flavor of Los Angeles. Over the years, Mariachi Divas performers have represented Mexican, Cuban, Samoan, Argentinean, Colombian, Panamanian, Puerto Rican, Swiss, Japanese, Honduran, Peruvian, and Anglo decent.
Mariachi Divas have made several television appearances and recently took roles as actors in two independent films. In addition, the Divas perform every week for audiences of all ages at a popular Anaheim-based theme park. The Divas appear in the documentary “Viva El Mariachi” and have had the honor of performing at the inaugurations of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa and California State Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Mariachi Divas have been featured at the Honda Center (formerly the Arrowhead Pond), Universal Amphitheatre, Staples Center, Greek Theater, Santa Barbara Bowl, the LA Forum for the 2005 “Premio La Gente” Live TV Awards Show and the LA Shrine at the 2006 Alma Awards. They have also accompanied Grammy winning artists such as: Joan Sebastian, Jenny Rivera, Marco Antonio Solis, Pablo Montero, and Paulina Rubio.
Doors open at 5 PM to the award-winning Ambrosia Restaurant. Dinner reservations for Ambrosia are recommended as the restaurant tends to sell out on show nights. Doors to the theater and main lobby open at 6 PM with cocktails and appetizers available for purchase. Join us after the show for an after party featuring live jazz in The Vault VIP Lounge.
