In conjunction with her new exhibition “Three Decades of Inquiry,” artist Margi Weir will present a gallery talk at the Las Cruces Museum of Art on Saturday, November 21 at 11 am. Weir will be discussing the artworks on display as well as her distinguished career and plans for the future. The exhibition opens on Friday, November 20, with gallery hours 10 am - 4 pm weekdays and 9 am -1 pm Saturday. Both the exhibition and talk are free of charge.
“Three Decades of Inquiry” is a retrospective of Margi Weir’s artwork in multiple mediums. While focusing on painting throughout her career, Weir’s work is often sculptural, and has evolved over the years from abstract to figural. She has advanced degrees in painting from both the University of California at Los Angeles and New Mexico State University, and is currently an Assistant Professor of Painting and Drawing at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
