March Madness Celebration March 28, 2009

March Madness is sweeping through Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration on March 28 from noon to 2 p.m.! Meet local college basketball players, then watch them interact with the aquarium’s resident beluga whales during this educational and fun celebration.

Starting at noon, learn the tricks of the trade from members of Mitchell College’s male and female basketball teams during dribbling workshops. The players will also be available to sign autographs.

At 1:30 p.m., observe how our beluga whales develop their agility and flexibility through enrichment activities. Watch a beluga toss a basketball to the Mitchell College players and place a ball in a floating bin while learning how these activities contribute to their overall health.

Throughout the event, guests can enter to win a basketball hoop courtesy of Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Southeastern New England, Inc., which will also be giving away free athletic towels.
