Mappy Hour June 17, 2009

Are you interested in learning more about maps, map making, and new community mapping trends? If so, join us for mappy hour, a social event for people interested in mapping, maps in the web 2.0, open source technology.

This event is hosted by OpenStreetMap and Baugos. OpenStreetMap is a global, open source map that can be contributed, edited and used by anyone anywhere. It could be considered a wikipedia of maps. You can learn more about OpenStreetMap, and the amazing mapping projects being carried out, here: wiki.openstreetmap.org

Baugos is Bay Area Users of Geospatial Open Source Group (http://www.baugos.com). They will meet before the happy hour portion for short informal presentations that are focused on Open Source GIS applications. Feel free to bring a topic to discuss. You can join them at 6pm at Stamen Design, 3012 16th Street, Suite 200 (right across from the 16th/Mission Bart station)
