9:00 PM: Dance Party w/ DJ Psychodeliqate & Pinderhues
Manuel Acevedo (NY), SPACES Gallery's current artist in residence through the World Artists Program, will present a slideshow and discuss work he developed while in residence in Cleveland in late 2006.
Acevedo's multidisciplinary work uses both interior and exterior urban landscapes to create dialogues about myth, identity and cultural understandings. Acevedo spent time wandering Cleveland neighborhoods on foot, searching for inspiration for his re-imaginings of specific locales.
Acevedo's work has been widely shown in the US, including P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center, the Queens Museum of Art, Exit Art, and internationally, including the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico, Puerto Rico, and the Westfaelischer Kunstverein, Germany.
Donations of kitchen equipment for C-Space's Dinner Program will be gratefully accepted at this event. Check our dinner program wish list to see what we need.
