The make-up of today's family has changed significantly from 10 years ago, and even the most sophisticated employers find themselves struggling to stay abreast of the latest changes and implications to their organizations.
Examine federal and California laws that impact family and parental rights in the workplace, from FMLA leave, leave for children's school activities, and lactation accommodation, to domestic violence victims' needs in the workplace, rights for same-sex couples, and elder care issues.
We will also take a look at the growing trend of litigation challenging "family responsibility discrimination," including how to recognize and prevent employment actions that could run afoul of the various laws that come into play.
