Usher in the Halloween season at Lulubell as Tucson artist MAM debuts his Hollywood Monsters series!

As a young child, native Tucsonan MAM remembers spending Sunday afternoons watching classic horror films on an old black & white TV. The monsters left a lasting impression that remains with him today.

As a graphic design student, MAM drew inspiration from Pop Art icons like Andy Warhol and Keith Haring. The bold lines and vibrant colors spoke to him, and he began to interpret his own kitschy visions in media as diverse as T-shirts and custom-designed cakes.

A T-shirt commission provided the inspiration for a line of Pop Art portraits celebrating Hollywood monsters past and present. MAM's Hollywood Monsters series represents the juxtoposition of black & white film icons with the bright colors of the Punk movement of the 1980's. MAM's closely guarded textural technique makes the images leap off the canvas in much the same way the characters lept off the screen when they first debuted.

MAM encourages touching the paintings to experience the textural aspects of each amazing piece.
