This course will help you plan and implement a Disaster Recovery strategy for your Oracle database. Often IT managers will ensure that the High Availability requirements of your database are met but what if your whole data centre is lost or unavailable?
This seminar will talk about how to prepare and put in place an infrastructure to protect yourself from that eventuality. It concentrates on the deployment of Oracle Data Guard, which is Oracle’s DR product that is included in Oracle RDBMS Server Enterprise edition. However in the introduction and strategy section it will discuss other possible methods of implementing DR. The seminar will concentrate mainly on 9i and 10g versions of Oracle but it will also touch on the features available with Data Guard in 11g. It will also mention both implementing Data Guard with command line SQL, DGMRL and Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control.
