See how maple, mahogany, rosewood, spruce and other woods are cut, prepared and worked by a string instrument artisan. You even participate in demonstrations of instrument construction techniques, and hear music performed. After, you will put your new found knowledge to the test and construct a simple wooden xylophone to take home. Ages 9-16 welcome with an adult registrant. Costs $78 (discounts for Arboretum members).
