Meet the winners of the inaugural 2006 California Clean Tech Open. With over 155 entries, this statewide competition focuses on keeping California the leader in commercialized green technologies.
The panel will be moderated by Forbes Silicon Valley Bureau senior editor Elizabeth Corcoran. Corcoran is an award-winning journalist who has covered the high tech world since 1985. “The mixture of technological innovation and entrepreneurial energy now going into clean technology is exciting,” Corcoran says. “These are the kinds of ideas that can genuinely change our world.”
Learn about the progress that the five winning companies have made as they move their innovations from the lab into the marketplace. The companies represented include Adura Technologies, wireless lighting management that reduces energy costs by 50 percent; EDC Technologies Inc., hot water control system that reduces natural gas consumption by 15 to 40 percent; KiteShip, large traction kites for ships that reduces fuel costs by 25 percent; Crystal Clear Technologies, nanotechnology for water treatment; and GreenVolts, revolutionary high concentration photovoltaic technology for utilities.
In addition to a panel discussion, panelists will also demonstrate their winning technology and be on hand to answer questions at the reception before and after the formal program.
