Now in its sixth year, the Carry the Vision Community Nonviolence Conference (CTV) works to build bridges of peace through nonviolence education by convening a forum for meaningful dialog and exchange among diverse groups who share a vision of a peaceful and just world. This year's event, Make a World of Difference, will also offer an introduction to the global convening of the 2009 Parliament of the World's Religions in Melbourne, Australia, providing a window to explore the themes of the Parliament with their potentials for strengthening the societal fabric of understanding and goodwill within our own community.

Keynote Speakers
Dr. Musimbi Kanyoro is the Population Program Director at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. This former General Secretary of the World YWCA will speak about women's roles in the establishing peace and achieving the U.N. Millennium Development Goals.
The Rev. Dr. William Lesher is the chair of the Board of Trustees of the Parliament of the World's Religions. He will introduce the purpose of the 2009 Parliament and outline Santa Clara County's role in this global arena.
This event is offered in collaboration with Santa Clara University, San Jose Vice Mayor Dave Cortese's Office and the Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions and will provide an introduction to the global convening of the Parliament in Australia in December 2009. The keynote address will take place at the morning plenary which will be followed by break out panels, workshops and discussion groups. Opportunities for dialog will be supported throughout the event.
$10 for general admission paid in advance; $15 if paid at the door; and $10 youth (17-25).
