Bring your family to Lands End in Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) for a day of volunteering and free outdoor activities overlooking the ocean. The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy (GGNPC), Pacific Leadership Institute (PLI), and REI are teaming up to celebrate National "Make A Difference Day" the nation's largest volunteering event. Experience the thrill of zip-lining through the trees with PLI’s trained experts; join in a spectacular hike with Parks Conservancy staff and learn about native plants, while you help remove invasive species. Bring your kids to the REI booth for some playtime with Chipper the squirrel. Author Stephanie Rach will read stories from her “Let’s Go Chipper” series, which teach kids a love and respect for the environment. Up to 50 “Let’s Go Chipper: Let’s Stroll Crissy Field” books will be given away, compliments of REI. Kids will enjoy eco-educational crafts and interactive games. Meets in the Merrie Way Parking Lot at Lands End.
