Journey with the Main Street Community Band on an energetic Civil War inspired musical adventure. Follow a rolling river across the battlefields of the Shenandoah Valley, experience the rush of a great train raid, and enjoy some of the best-known American tunes of the Civil War and beyond. Works include Jerry Bilik’s masterful American Civil War Fantasy, Robert Smith’s driving The Great Locomotive Chase, and a rendition of the traditional folk song Shenandoah. Presented as part of Fairfax's 25th annual Spotlight on the Arts Festival, a three-week long presentation of music, dance, theater and visual arts in and around the City of Fairfax.
