Designed by contemporary artists, the Belgium woven tapestries are representative of the extraordinary work originating with Oakland's Magnolia Editions. Founded over two decades ago by Don and Era Farnsworth, Magnolia Editions is a fine art print studio providing artists with technical expertise and access to an old-world handmade papermaking facility, etching presses, a flatbed transfer lithography press and large pigment-based electronic printing processes. Working closely with artists to produce and publish print multiples, unique artist's prints, works on paper and textiles, their workshop studio utilizes both traditional printing methods and the most advanced digital printing along with Jacquard weaving techniques. This exhibit features over twenty examples drawn from Magnolia Editions' ongoing tapestry project in the Museum's current showing of the major new exhibition, 'Magnolia Editions: Woven Transcriptions.'
