Magic Theatre's Hot House '06 continues with Morbidity & Mortality March 10, 2006

Magic Theatre, San Francisco?s premiere home for new plays, continues its 2005?06 Season with HOT HOUSE?06, featuring three world premieres by playwrights shaping the future of American Theatre.

HOT HOUSE?06 continues with Morbidity & Mortality by Courtney Baron that takes a husband, a wife and a doctor through a crash course in the workings of the human heart. The play finds a surprisingly comic sensibility in the young couple?s tragedy and obsession and is directed by Loretta Greco, the Artistic Director of NYC?s acclaimed Women?s Project.

A tour-de-force for 3 actors, Morbidity and Mortality is a hard-hitting, yet surprisingly humorous drama. Set in a sparse theatrical landscape, the text focuses on the relationship of these three compelling and flawed characters. This production is the culmination of extensive developmental work with the playwright and the director through readings at the Atlantic Theatre and as a part of the New Works Now series at the Public Theatre.

Performances continue Tuesdays?Sundays through April 9, 2005. Audiences have an opportunity to see all three shows in one weekend, with Theatre-Intensive Weekends scheduled the last three weekends of HOT HOUSE?06, March 24-26, March 31-April 2, April 7-9.
