Madras Day August 21, 2006

As most of you must be aware by now, Aug 22, 1639 is widely accepted as the date of founding of the city of Madras. It was on this day the "firmaan" for a small strip of no man's land was obtained by the British from the local Nayak, Venkatadri.

Off late the Madras Day is gaining popularity amongst its citizens.
