Madame Butterfly: From Puccini to Miss Saigon June 27, 2007

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Puccini's classic opera 'Madama Butterfly,' this exhibition charts the history of the story from Pierre Loti's novel/travelogue 'Madame Chrysantheme,' John Luther Long's novella 'Madame Butterfly' and David Belasco's play 'Madam Butterfly,' leading to Puccini's masterful opera. The exhibition features an array of diverse works including manuscripts, photographs, posters, playbills, costumes and programs.
