Lynette Yiadom-Boakye: Any Number of Preoccupations, is the British painter’s first solo museum exhibition. Yiadom-Boakye (b. 1977, London)—recently included in the Studio Museum’s exhibition Flow (2008)—reinvents portraiture as a conceptual endeavor, depicting fi ctional, timeless characters. Any Number of Preoccupations features twenty-four works created between 2003 and 2010, and is accompanied by a 64-page catalogue with contributions by Okwui Enwezor, Associate Curator Naomi Beckwith, Director and Chief Curator Thelma Golden and the artist.
